Education
Omotola Jalade was a student at Chrisland School Opebi in 1981-87. She also attended Oxford Children’s School Santos Layout in 1987.
In 1988, she went on to Command Secondary School Kaduna, remaining until 1993. Although she did a short stint at Obafemi Awolowo University in 1987, she finished her studies at Yaba College of Technology, where she studied Estate Management.

Families, marriage, husbands, and children
In 1996, Omotola married her heartthrob Captain Mathew Elkeinde. At the time, she was only 17 years old. They have four children: 2 boys and 2 daughters.
They are named Princess, Meraiah, Meraiah, and Michael. Omotola was the mother to Princess, her first child, on 30/03/97. Omotola’s husband, Captain Mathew, is a well-known pilot with many high-profile airlines, including Sosoliso and Aero Contractors. Bellview, AIC Airlines, Arik Air and Sosoliso.
He is currently with Bristow Helicopters. On board a Dash 7 aircraft, Omotola and Mathew Ekeinde were flying from Lagos to Benin. They held a white wedding with close friends and family.

Acting Career
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde began acting in 1995. Her first film was Venom of Justice, which Reginald Ebere directed. Omotola was said to have accompanied a friend to an audition.
Her friend did not get the part but encouraged her to give it a shot. Omotola’s mother initially refused to let her act, but she was eventually allowed to act by the entire crew and director who went to her home to beg her mother.
Reginald Ebere is often cited as being the one who launched Omotola’s career.
Omotola was the film’s lead actress, setting the stage for her successful career in Nollywood.
She was the first major star in Nigeria’s movie industry when she played the role of a sickle cell patient who fights for survival despite all odds in the critically acclaimed 1995 film Mortal Illusion.
Omotola’s character, overcame the disease and had a child. This film is considered one of the best films ever made in Nigeria. She has appeared in many blockbuster movies since then, including Games Women Play and Blood Sisters.
After having acted in more than 300 straight-to-video movies, Omotola was given her first movie role in 2010. Ije was, at that time, the highest-grossing Nollywood film.
This feat was later broken by Smartphone Swap (2012). She starred in Last Flight to Abuja, a blockbuster Nollywood thriller that beat Hollywood blockbusters like Spiderman and Thinks Like a Man. It was the 2nd most-grossing movie of 2012 in West African cinemas.
