Nick Cannon is an American actor and TV host with an estimated net worth of 45 million. During his career, Nick has succeeded in television, film, radio, and as an entrepreneur/producer. In his many hosting roles, most notably “The Masked Singer,” Nick earns around $5 million each year.
Nick is also a famously big family. As of the moment, there are seven children in his four relationships, including twins who are with the musician Mariah Carey. Currently, he’s expecting his eighth child from the fifth woman.
Early Life
Nick Cannon was born in San Diego, California, on the 8th of October, 1980. His grandpa primarily fostered him. He was raised within Lincoln Park’s Bay Vista Housing Projects. Cannon was a member of his Lincoln Park Bloods street gang in his teens and then was able to leave the group after losing an intimate friend to violence. Cannon began performing at age eight, and by the age of 11, the comedian was already appearing for his dad’s local cable access TV show.
Cannon is a graduate of Monte Vista High School in 1998. Nick was later able to move to Hollywood, where he could land a variety of stand-up comedy gigs at locations such as The Laugh Factory, The Improv, and The Comedy Store. Nick’s first big TV appearance came when he was cast in”All That,” a Nickelodeon sketch comedy program “All That” during the late 90s.
Cannon was also a part of a group of rappers as a teen, the Da G4 Dope Bomb Squad, and they performed as opening acts for well-known 90s acts such as LFO, 98 Degrees, Montell Jordan as well as Will Smith.
On-Screen Career
The year 2002 was the first time Nick was a guest in “Men In Black II”. His first major role was when he played the main role of Devon Miles in the movie “Drumline” in 2002.
The next year, he appeared in the comedy “Love Do Not Cost One Cent”. The other films he has appeared in comprise “Shall We Dance”, “Roll Bounce,” and the 2006 film “Bobby.” The role he played in “Bobby” earned him an award at the Screen Actors Guild Award in 2007 and was awarded the Breakthrough Actor of the Year Award at the Cannes Film Festival for his performance. Music Career
In 2005, Nick launched his label, “Can I Ball Records”. The self-titled debut album came out in 2003 and debuted 15th on the US R&B chart. The album’s lead track, “Can I Live,” first came out in July 2005.
In 2009, Nick created a record label called N’Credible Entertainment after having to cancel Can-I-Ball Records. In 2010 Cannon made a parody character of Slick Rick and dubbed himself Slick Nick. Cannon released two tracks under Slick Nick, then in December of 2011, he released a mixtape titled “Child of Corn”. In July 2013, Cannon released a new single, “Me Sexy”.
The singer released a follow-up single in the same month, “Looking for A Dream,” with Afrojack. The album he released was his second, “White People Party Music,” was released in the year 2014. The second mixtape of Cannon, “The Gospel of Ike Turn Up The Gospel of Ike Turn Up: My Side of the Story,” was released on the 16th of November, 2016.
Nick made his version of the Eminem diss track called “The Invite” in December 2019. Following Eminem tweeted his reply, Cannon recorded a second diss track the same day.
America’s Got Talent
2009 was the first time Regis Philbin replaced him as the host of “America’s Got Talent”. He hosted the show from 2009 to 2016. While hosting “America’s Got Talent” the show, he made $75,000 per show.
In 2017 Nick announced that he would not be returning in the season of 2017, citing the creative differences with NBC executives. The network had been contemplating dismissing Nick following his disparaging remarks regarding NBC on the Showtime comedy special “Stand Up Do Not Shoot.”
Cannon was technically contracted and could be accused by NBC of breach of the contract. NBC executives initially declined to accept his resignation. But, eventually, they approved the resignation, and Cannon was later replaced by Tyra Banks, host of “America’s Got Talent”.
CBS Firing
On the 30th of June episode of Nick’s Podcast “Cannon’s Class”, Nick made comments which were later interpreted as antisemitic. When he interviewed singer Prof. Griff from Public Enemy about leaving the group after he made antisemitic comments, Cannon then discussed several conspiracy theories concerning the wealthy Rothschild family, which were thought antisemitic. On the 14th of July, 2020, as a result of the remarks, ViacomCBS terminated its relationship with Cannon that had been in the long-running airing of his program “Wild ‘N Out” in response to “hateful expression and conspiracy theories about anti-Semitism.” Cannon also hosts an on-air program on KPWR Power 106 called “Nick Cannon Mornings.”
On the 16th of July, 2020, he made a public announcement via Twitter that he would take a break from his show to review and formulate an outline of actions. The show is now off the air for some time.
The host apologized via Twitter and was able to continue hosting the Fox series “The Masked Singer” that he has hosted since the year 2019.
Mariah Carey Marriage and Divorce
Nick Cannon was married to the singer Mariah Carey from 2008 until 2016. The couple was at a wedding at her private home on Windermere Island in The Bahamas. They have two kids together, twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott. Nick and Mariah declared their divorce in August 2014. Their divorce was finally finalized in the year 2016.
Divorce Settlement

Activism
Cannon runs his own charitable organization, The Nicholas Scott Cannon Foundation. Cannon filmed an announcement for public service in 2011 to promote the charity Do Something, which encourages young people to choose a cause that they’re passionate about and to be involved and help their communities. In 2011, Cannon served as an official ambassador for the National Association of Letter Carriers for their annual food campaign.
